The impact of nepotism and clientelism on the high rate of youth unemployment in South Africa is capable of increasing the rates of social inequality and poverty in the country, reducing the population's quality of life and opportunities.

What is nepotism and clientelism?

They correspond to types of favoritism shown to members of the same family and friends in order to grant employment contracts and political favors to these people.

Despite being illegal practices in South Africa, these situations occur, mainly preventing younger people from gaining work opportunities.

Therefore, it is essential that there are governmental measures to control and extinguish the practices of nepotism and clientelism so that there is greater justice and social equality in the country.
