Large corporations could easily gain monopolies in their field. A monopoly is when one corporation controls all or most of a certain aspect. For example, if you were the only person to sell lemonade on a hot day, you would have a monopoly in the lemonade business. You'd be able to charge however much you wanted for your lemonade because there would be no competition.
Large corporations were more powerful than small businesses. Due to this, they could easily make more money.
Grendel caged in a limited mind because he only knows his own experiences or what happened to him or what he do in his life.
If we listen to other peoples experience, we come to know many new things and obviously life is beautiful and every person have different experiences in their life. Some people have bad experiences and some people have good. By knowing and listening to other people, we were not caged in a limited mind we become open minded.

Hughes's poem uses Whitman's idea that all Americans are individuals and important parts of this country. He wants to add to Whitman's poem so that it includes the experience of African Americans. Hughes says African Americans are important and have a culture that should be celebrated. Everyone has their own song to sing, and all Americans are part of this country.
