Multiplication is repeating addition

we add 6 yards, 9 feet, and 4 inches 2 times

4+4=8 inches

9+9=18

1 foot=12 inches

we subtract 18-12 and that's 6 inches
12+1=13

13 feet, 6 inches and 8 inches

Need help on this math question!!!
gavmur [86]

Answer:

s = 10w

Step-by-step explanation:

We can find the equation in <u>slope-intercept form</u> which is y = mx + b. The variables mean:

"b" - for the y-intercept (where the graph hits the y-axis)

"m" - for the slope (how steep the line is)

"x" and "y" - coordinates that satisfy the equation (points on the line)

From the graph, we can see that the y-intercept is 0. b = 0, therefore we do not need to write it in the equation.

To find the slope, "m", use the equation  m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}. To use it, substitute the coordinates for two points. Using the diagram, choose a point 1 and a point 2.

Point 1 (0, 0)      x₁ = 0   y₁ = 0

Point 2 (1, 10)     x₂ = 1   y₂ = 10

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}          Substitute values

m = \frac{10-0}{1-0}          Subtract to simplify

m = \frac{10}{1}          Simplify the fraction

m = 10            Slope of the line

Since we know "m" and "b", we can write the equation:

y = mx + b

y = 10x + 0

y = 10x

We are not using "x" and "y" in this case. Change them according to the question.

x => w

y => s

y = 10x   =>   s = 10w

Alexa and Brent are each working on a 30-question assignment. Alexa completed 20% of the questions. Brent completed 30% of the q
Mandarinka [93]
So 20% of 30 is 6
30% * 30 is 9
Alexa completed 6 of 30 questions
Brent completed 9 of 30 questions

Brent completed 3 more questions than Alexa

Hope this helps :)

What can you say about the sum of consecutive odd numbers starting with 1? that is, evaluate 1, 1c3, 1c3c5, 1c3c5c7, and so on,
Mice21 [21]

Let us add consecutive odd numbers and try to find any relationship.

1. 1

2. 1+3 = 4 ( square of 2 i.e 2^{2} )

3. 1+3+5 = 9 ( 3^{2} )

4.  1+3+5+7 =  16 (4^{2} )

5. 1+3+5+7+9 = 25 (5^{2} )

6. 1+3+5+7+9+11 = 36 ( 6^{2} )

7. 1+3+5+7+9+11+13 = 49 (7^{2} )

If we notice, the sum of the consecutive odd integers in each case is equal to the square of the place where it lies. For example, the sum of numbers in seventh place is equal to 7^{2}. The sum of the numbers in the fifth line is equal to 5^{2}.
