<span>In Europe during the year 1914, two big alliances opposing each other were formed. Ultimately these two alliances were responsible for the starting of World War I. The two alliances were The Triple alliance and The Triple Entente. The Triple Alliance was formed between the countries Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy. The Triple Entente was formed between the countries France, Great Britain and Russia. Germany was a country that joined the Triple Alliance in the later parts. These alliances were formed to protect each other if attacked by the other alliance.  </span>
