What global changes prompted the Monroe Doctrine? What were its key provisions? How does it show America's growing international presence?

Territories of Spain in the New World had been fighting for independence, and many were successful. John Quincy Adams feared that Spain would attempt to regain its territories, including Florida, a part of the continental U.S. The Monroe Doctrine stated that the U.S. would oppose further European colonization attempts, abstain from involvement in European wars, and warned Europe not to interfere with the newly independent states in the New World.

-) Which aspect of the climate led settlers in the Fertile Crescent to dig canals? cool winters long droughts long rainy seasons
QveST [7]

Answer:

Long droughts

Explanation:

The climate in Mesopotamia is semiarid, which means hot summers, and only a few months of rain. Civilization only thrives there because of floods of the rivers Tigris and Euphrates. The floods occurred only in April and May, so they had to prepare themselves for the long droughts. That's why they build canals, and what helps them settle there.

Answer:

Scott was considered as property that could not be taken from its owner.

Explanation:

In the way this ruling was written, Dred Scott didn't have the right to sue in a Missouri's courts, since he wasn't considered a citizen.

Section C also basically states the the Missouri Compromise was unconstitutional and was considered void, as it deprived a US citizen of their property, which is what slaves were considered as at the time.
