Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

\dfrac{x}{3}+\dfrac{y}{4}=2\\\\\\\text{Multiply the whole equation by the LCM of 4 , 12 which is 12}\\\\ 12*\dfrac{x}{3}+12*\dfrac{y}{4}=12*2\\\\\\4x + 3y=24 \ -------------------(i)

\dfrac{2x}{3}+\dfrac{3y}{4}=5\\\\\\\text{Multiply the whole equation by 12}\\\\12*\dfrac{2x}{3}+12*\dfrac{3y}{4}=5*12\\\\\\

8x + 9y = 60 -------------------------(ii)

Multiply  equation (i) by (-2)

(i)*(-2)              -8x -6y = -48

(ii)                    <u> 8x +9y = 60</u>   {Now add. x will be cancelled}

                                3y = 12    {Divide both sides by 3}

                                  y = 12/3

y = 4

Substitute y = 4 in equation (i)

4x + 3*4 = 24

4x + 12   = 24

         4x = 24 - 12

         4x = 12

           x = 12/4

x = 3

\boxed{x = 3  \ ; \ y = 4}

Anyone know the answer??
Serggg [28]

Answer:

the second option

Step-by-step explanation:

in ax²+bx+c = 0:

x = \frac{-b+-\sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}

subtract both sides by 6 to get to this form, as the right side will be left with 0

6x² + 8x - 6 = 0

here, the coefficient for x² (a) is 6, the coefficient for x (b) is 8, and the remaining number added on (c) is -6

plugging our numbers into the formula, we get

x = \frac{-8+-\sqrt{(-8)^2-4(6)(-6)} }{2(6)}\\= \frac{-8+-\sqrt{64-(-144)} }{12} \\= \frac{-8+-\sqrt{208} }{12} \\ = \frac{-8+\sqrt{208} }{12} or \frac{-8-\sqrt{208} }{12}\\= 0.53518375848 or -1.86851709182\\= approximately -1.87, 0.54

If david went out to eat and their bill was $26.98, how much of a tip should they leave total if they want to tip 20%?
ale4655 [162]
$26.98 x .20=5.396 tip.

So, depending if if you need to round to the nearest cent, the tip would be $5.40 + bill $26.98=$32.38 total amount.

If you are rounding to the nearest dollar, the tip would be $6+26.98= $32.98.

Find the value of p that makes quadrilateral QRST a parallelogram.
Afina-wow [57]
P= 31

EXPLANATION :opposite sides of a parallelogram are congruent so angles R & S should equal to 180 degrees when you add them and so on for angles Q & T

ANGLES R & S :
2p+3p+25=180
5p+25=180
5p=180-25
5p=155
p=31

ANGLES Q & T
p+87+5p-93=180
6p-6=180
6p=180+6
6p=186
p=31

MATH CHECK:
2(31)+3(31)+25+(31)+87+5(31)-93=360
62+93+25+31+87+155-93=360
453-93=360
360=360
