Read the definitions of “accept” and “except.” Once you are familiar with both words, complete the student passage by typing the

correct word into each of the blank spaces.
accept (verb): to agree to; to consider to be true; to endure. Ex: The lawyer accepted the judge’s ruling.

except (verb): to exclude or leave out. Ex: She was excepted from the field trip.
Hazelwood School District v. Kuhlmeier was a Supreme Court case, and the court ruled on it in January 1988. It was a crippling blow to students’ First Amendment rights, and I am writing to protest it. The court held that school officials have the final say on public school newspapers, and students cannot complain when the paper is published as part of a class.________for decisions made for political reasons, principals are allowed to censor student newspapers, and they can get away with it. This censorship is prior restraint, and I do not________ it.

Why is Rev. Parris so fearful that villagers will discover his niece and daughter were among the girls dancing in the woods? (Re
vfiekz [6]

Answer:

Rev. Parris was so fearful that the villagers will discover his niece and daughter were amond the girls dancing in the woods because, in the village, it was part of the rituals of witches to dance around fire in the forest.

As a reverend who had already made enemies that wanted to see him fail and fall, this information would be a great instrument in their hands because he would be labelled a hypocrite, a reverend whose family practiced witchcraft and yet he preached against it.

Cheers!

What is one reason that Thomas Paine thinks the colonies stand a good chance against the British
Svet_ta [14]
The one reason that Thomas Paine thinks the colonies stand a good chance against the British was that the colonies had very less to lose in the fight against the British. On the other hand the British had everything to lose once the colonies freed themselves from the oppression. The colonies had every resource to prepare arms for the fight against the British. The British would lose out financially in a big way as the colonies would then stop paying undue taxes that the British government charged.
