Its work was done, and it was brittle and ready to fall and crumple under the freezing air, so soon as the nightfall came. And the huge cacti, that had swollen as we watched them, had long since burst and scattered their spores to the four quarters of the moon. Amazing little corner in the universe—the landing place of men!

What overall message do you think Bradford means to communicate in Of Plymouth Plantation? Write an essay to state what you thin
BARSIC [14]

Answer and Explanation:

"Of Plymouth Plantation" is composed by Bradford's account of the difficult times that the first English colonists suffered to arrive in North America.

Bradford wrote "Of Plymouth Plantation" not just as a diary, but an account of how it is possible to overcome our greatest difficulties, even when they seem impossible to overcome and even though it seems that we will lose our life in an attempt to overcome difficulties.

We can see that, because "Of Plymouth Plantation" presents a narrative of overcoming. Bradford presents the inhospitable environment, the unfavorable climate, the limited food and the constant dangers that the pilgrims went through, he reports the deaths and the constant threats they suffered, but also shows how they managed to overcome all this with effort, dedication, faith and trust.

Therefore, we can say that Bradford's narrative is significant, as it shows how the human being, in general, is capable of overcoming adversity and is capable of being greater than all of them. This is related to current life, as we live in times of uncertainty and danger, but we will eventually overcome everything.

1.A word that accurately describes the government in 1984 is democratic.
rosijanka [135]

Answer:

1. False

2. True

3. False

Explanation:

1. It is false because 1984 has a dystopian setting where the government seems to have absolute power and people apparently have no privacy or saying in anything.

2. True. Many times, stories play with the idea that to erradicate inequiality, people became equally poor or miserable.

3. In V for Vendetta, the government is actually shown as a criminal, corrupt organization that has as only goal to oppress the civilization and keep its own power

What does Shakespeare say about love in Twelfth Night? Do you agree or disagree? Support your ideas with evidence from the text.
uranmaximum [27]

Shakespeare believes that Love can cause pain. And I agree with this statement. Based from the play, various couples went through different kinds of heartache before they met the person that was meant for them. Each character sees love in a different light. Olivia believed that love is a plague because of how she suffered because of it. Orsino saw love as an appetite that he cannot fill. Viola was suffering from a one sided love.
