If a person had a dominant allele for blonde hair and a recessive allele for red hair, the probability of that person having red hair would be closest to 100 percent. The dominant allele will express while the recessive allele would require two copies of genes to give the red color. The lone expression of the allele for blonde hair would lead to the presence of blonde hair on the head.
As people moved to areas farther from the equator with lower UV levels, natural selection favored lighter skin which allowed UV rays to penetrate and produce essential vitamin D. The darker skin of peoples who lived closer to the equator was important in preventing folate deficiency
