Answer:

Vitamin D deficiency is now recognized as a pandemic. The major cause of vitamin D deficiency is the lack of appreciation that sun exposure in moderation is the major source of vitamin D for most humans. Very few foods naturally contain vitamin D, and foods that are fortified with vitamin D are often inadequate to satisfy either a child's or an adult's vitamin D requirement. Vitamin D deficiency causes rickets in children and will precipitate and exacerbate osteopenia, osteoporosis, and fractures in adults. Vitamin D deficiency has been associated with increased risk of common cancers, autoimmune diseases, hypertension, and infectious diseases. A circulating level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D of >75 nmol/L, or 30 ng/mL, is required to maximize vitamin D's beneficial effects for health. In the absence of adequate sun exposure, at least 800–1000 IU vitamin D3/d may be needed to achieve this in children and adults. Vitamin D2 may be equally effective for maintaining circulating concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D when given in physiologic concentrations.

The factor favoring filtrate formation at the glomerulus is the ____________.
salantis [7]

Answer:

The factor favoring filtrate formation at the glomerulus is the glomerular hydrostatic pressure.

Explanation:

glomerular hydrostatic pressure is the pressure of the blood in the glomerular capillaries.

The pressure generated by the fluid against a surface is called the Hydrostatic pressure . The blood in glomerulus generates the glomerular hydrostatic pressure , that forces the fluid out of glomerulus into the glomerular capsule .

Fluid in glomerular capsule generates pressure that pushes the fluid out of glomerular capsule back into the glomerulus , opposing glomerular hydrostatic pressure . this is called the capsular hydrostatic pressure .

The fluid exerts pressure in the opposite direction , and hence , the net movement of the fluid will be in the direction of lower pressure .

In a situation where you have activated ems or your occupational emergency action plan, other providers are on the way with an aed and you do not feel a brachial pulse, cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be done to the patient.

What is CPR?

This is referred to as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and is a lifesaving technique which is used during emergencies when the individual's heart has stopped beating.

This comprises of series of compressions and artificial ventilation so as to preserve brain functions before blood circulation is restored in an individual who has cardiac arrest.

The brachial artery is deep in the muscle which makes it hard for the pulse to be felt which is why cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be done to the patient before other health providers arrive at the scene so as to prevent complications and death.
