Something I noticed right away is that 4/8 can be simplified.

4/8 ===> 2/4

So now we have 2/4 - 1/4

Just subtract the numerators only.

2/4 - 1/4 = 1/4

1/4 cannot be simplified, so 1/4 is your final answer.
