Hello, my dear friend!

You will never guess what has been happening. My big sister got married! She looked so beautiful, in a long white dress and a fancy hairstyle. Bet you could never imagine me in that!

I was the lead bridesmaid though. I had to go try on all these poxy dresses, but settled on a simple, comfortable top with leggings. I have to say, I didn't look all that bad. It felt so funny watching my sister, who I grew up with, walk down the aisle. I wanted to cry and laugh and make a tantrum at the same time. It was great when the ceremony ended and we went to the banquet. That was great fun, all the delicious pies and cakes.

I'm friends (sort of) with groom, I think he's a bit ditzy though. It was extremely sad when she had to leave us. I nearly started crying, but I didnt want to show myself up infront of everyone there. My sister was crying. She cried buckets. My mum too. They could have filled a swimming pool with tears!

It was very enjoyable though. The house is quiet without my sister, but I know she's happy, which makes me happy too. Plus, she visits us every Saturday, which is very fun.

How have you been, anyway?

erastova [34]

The Spoils System is a practice where the victorious party rewards its supporters with government jobs or appointing them to government positions. It was the ‘norm’ from the Presidency of Andrew Jackson right up to the end of President’s Garfield’s administration. Well, President Garfield was killed by a man named Charles J. Guiteau, a mentally-ill man who believed he had helped the president win the election and so expected to be rewarded. Guiteau was not given a gov’t post and so plotted to kill the president and was successful. The assassination helped usher Civil Service Reform in the country.

Zigmanuir [339]

Explanation:

This question presupposes that Muhammed Ali did in fact bring people together. During his working lifetime, that is, when he was actually boxing, Muhammed Ali was an incredibly controversial figure who many wanted to see lose. His talent led some people to him but he was not a universally beloved figure in his time. In fact, the movie Rocky is seen as a jab (pun intended) at Ali
