Answer:

8 motors

Step-by-step explanation:

The fuses can carry one 5 HP motor.

This replaced by n number of 5/8HP motors.

That mean the new values of horsepower is equal to the previous value.

  • 5 = n * 5/8
  • 1 = n/8
  • n = 8 motors

[Right Triangles Only] Pythagorean Theorem: a² + b² = c²

  • a is a leg
  • b is another leg
  • c is the hypotenuse<u> </u>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Identify</u>

<em>a</em> = 12

<em>b</em> = 5

<em>c</em> = x

<u>Step 2: Solve for </u><em><u>x</u></em>

  1. Substitute in variables [PT]:                                                                           12² + 5² = x²
  2. Evaluate exponents:                                                                                      144 + 25 = x²
  3. Add:                                                                                                                 169 = x²
  4. [Equality] Square root both sides:                                                                 ±13 = x
  5. Rewrite:                                                                                                           x = ±13

Since we are dealing with positive numbers, we can disregard the negative root.

∴ x = 13

A town's population has been growing linearly. In 2003 the population was 35,000. The population has been growing by 2700 people
stiv31 [10]
2003: 35000
2004: 35000 + 2700 = 37700
2005: 37700 + 2700 = 40400 (and so on)
2006: 43100
2007: 45800
2008: 48500
2009: 51200

Need help with this so pls help!!!
Marat540 [252]
You need to simplify the expression and then you will know what the y coordinates are. I’m not good at this But you just need to solve the equation to be able to get the same coordinates by themselves. It’s sorta like geometry and algebra mixed. But first simplify the equations and then that will really help you.

The coordinates of ∆ABC are A(-3, 2), B(5, 8) &amp; C(11, 0). Which type of triangle is ∆ABC? Select All that apply.
stepan [7]

Given:

The coordinates of ∆ABC are A(-3, 2), B(5, 8) & C(11, 0).

To find:

The type of the given triangle.

Solution:

Distance formula:

D=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Using the distance formula, we get

AB=\sqrt{(5-(-3))^2+(8-2)^2}

AB=\sqrt{(8)^2+(6)^2}

AB=\sqrt{64+36}

AB=\sqrt{100}

AB=10

Similarly,

BC=\sqrt{(11-5)^2+(0-8)^2}

BC=\sqrt{(6)^2+(8)^2}

BC=\sqrt{36+64}

BC=\sqrt{100}

BC=10

And,

AC=\sqrt{(11-(-3))^2+(0-2)^2}

AC=\sqrt{(14)^2+(-2)^2}

AC=\sqrt{196+4}

AC=\sqrt{200}

AC=10\sqrt{2}

Two sides of the triangle are equal, i.e., AB=BC. So, the triangle is an isosceles triangle.

Sum of square of two smaller side is

AB^2+BC^2=10^2+10^2

AB^2+BC^2=100+100

AB^2+BC^2=200

AB^2+BC^2=AC^2

Using the Pythagoras theorem, we can say that the given triangle is a right triangle.

Therefore, the correct options are B and F.
