The exponent of the power in the scientific notation of the result of the expression (9.1 × 10^9)(7.5 × 10^2) is 12

<h3>How does scientific notations work?</h3>

The number is written in the form a \times 10^b where we have 1 \leq a < 10

The number b shows the order, which is the most important figure for which scientific notation is used. It tells us how much order large or small a value is in powers of 10. We can for a time, ignore the value of 'a' for two comparable quantities and only compare their orders(this type of comparison is useful when difference is too big, like size of human to size of a star etc sort of comparisons).

Scientific notations have some of the profits as:

  • Better readability due to compact representation
  • Its value in terms of power of 10 is known, which helps in easy comparison of quantities differing by a large value.

Expressing the multiplication of (9.1 × 10^9)(7.5 × 10^2) in terms of scientific notation, we get:

(9.1 0\times 10^9)(7.5 \times 10^2) = 9100000000 \times 750 = 6825000000000\\(9.1 0\times 10^9)(7.5 \times 10^2) = 6.825 \times 10^{12}(the exponent is 12)

Thus, the exponent of the power in the scientific notation of the result of the expression (9.1 × 10^9)(7.5 × 10^2) is 12

Answer:= The exponent is 12

Step-by-step explanation:(9.1 × 10^9)(7.5 × 10^2)

When multiplying terms in scientific notation, we multiply the numbers in front and add the exponents

(a* 10^b) (c* 10^d) = ac * 10^(b+d)

(9.1 × 10^9)(7.5 × 10^2) = (9.1*7.5) * 10^(9+2)

                                                =68.25 * 10^11

But this is not proper scientific notation.  We can only have 1 number in front of the decimal.  We need to move the decimal 1 place to the right.  That adds 1 to the exponent.

=68.25 * 10^11  = 6.825 * 10^(11+1)

                           = 6.825 * 10^12

Chris is packing toy boxes that are cubes with 4 inch-sides into a crate. The crate is 3 feet wide by 3 feet long by 2 feet tall
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

486\ toy\ boxes

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

1\ ft=12\ in

step 1

Convert the dimensions of the boxes to feet

4\ in=4/12=(1/3)\ ft

step 2

Find the volume of the toy boxes

V=b^{3}

V=(1/3)^{3}=(1/27)\ ft^{3}

step 3

Find the volume of the crate

V=LWH

V=(3)(3)(2)=18\ ft^{3}

step 4

Divide the volume of the crate by the volume of the toy boxes to find the number of toy boxes

\frac{18}{(1/27)}= 486\ toy\ boxes

Elden [556K]

From my understanding you ahould use the trig function cos to solve this.
cos(c) = 15/25 or 0.6
if you have this following function on your calculator I suggest using it:

cos ^{ - 1}

by using the function like so:

cos^{ - 1} (0.6

you should get about 53.13° (rounding to the nearest hundredth)
Hope this helped.
