Which description by Scout best describes the Cunningham family? "They never took anything they can't pay back-no church baskets

and no scrip stamps. They never took anything off of anybody, they get along on what they have. They don't have much, but they get along on it." "[They were] welcome anywhere in town, kept to themselves, a predilection unforgivable in Maycomb. They did not go to church, Maycomb's principal recreation, but worshiped at home." OD "Whole school's full of 'em. They come first day every year and then leave. The truant lady gets 'em here 'cause she threatens 'em with the sheriff, but she's give up tryin' to hold 'em. She reckons she's carried out the law just gettin' their names on the roll and runnin' 'em here the first day.' "Being Southerners, it was a source of shame to some members of the family that we had no recorded ancestors on either side of the Battle of Hastings."

Ksju [112]
1.What about Douglass' speech strikes you as unique or memorable?

Douglas' s speech to me dictated the sorrow many slaves felt on the fourth of July even as the White people celebrated. In the following passage, the most notable mention of this idea to me is evident. "Fellow citizens, above your national, tumultuous joy, I hear the mournful wail of millions, whose chains, heavy and grievous yesterday, are today rendered more intolerable by the jubilant shouts that reach them." In the excerpt, Douglas calls the chains of the slaves more intolerable than the jubilant shouts. Douglas means that the fourth of July was a day of freedom, yet slaves in America were still present and were saddened by the day as it symbolised the lie that was independence day.

vova2212 [387]

Answer: D) pragmatic rule.

Explanation:

While phonological, syntactic and semantic rules mainly rely on words when trying to understand a particular message, this is not the case with pragmatic rule. On the contrary, pragmatic rule takes non-verbal messages into consideration, which are also crucial for a successful interpretation of a speech. Jesse did not base his decision on NIcolette's words solely - he also relied on non-verbal messages, sighing and rolling her eyes.

Why traditional games are a significant part of our cultural heritage?
8_murik_8 [283]
Traditional games have also been categorised as intangible cultural heritage-tugging rituals and games (Cambodia, Philippines and Korea), the Belgian initiative to cultivate ludodiversity, horse riding (Azerbaijan), etc. The concept of ludodiveristy encompasses a wide variety of games, sport, acrobatics and physical exercises. Sportimonium, an NGO in Belgium, has partnered with local communities and associations to safeguard the heritage of games and sports including 23 types of traditional games. It promotes these sports to create awareness among the youth on the significance of intangible cultural heritage sports. It is believed that such sports across the world not only have cultural significance but also incidental benefits that contribute to the wellbeing of an individual. While the Indian heritage list by Unesco lacks any games, India is home to many such traditional games that have nurtured multidimensional and overall development of an individual. Creating awareness on the importance of traditional games is one of the objectives of the Initiative for Moral and Cultural Training Foundation (IMCT), a Chennai-based public charitable organisation. IMCT’s objective is to inculcate values in youth on the theme of “Value Building is Nation Building.”
