Since the electron that is lost is on the valence shell of sodium, the size of sodium will shrink while the size of chlorine will increase.

<h3>Ionic bonding</h3>

Ionic bonding is said  to occur when a  metal looses an electron to a nonmetal. The resulting compound is actually an ion pair.

For the formation of sodium chloride, a sodium atom looses an electron which is present on its valence shell while chlorine accepts this electrons into its valence shell as a result, the size of sodium will shrink while the size of chlorine will increase.

Which of the following is a possible long-term consequence of two organisms occupying the same niche? a. Local extinction b. Coo
Iteru [2.4K]

Answer:

Niche refers to the role of the microorganism or a living thing in an ecosystem. When two organisms occupying the same niche, the possible long-term consequence isA. local extinction. This is because the relationship is competition which can outlast the other. Eventually, when the environment is changed, the organisms adapt too which erases the original attributes.

Students in a statistics class are conducting a survey to estimate the mean number of units students at their college are enroll
Andrew [12]

Using the t-distribution, as we have the standard deviation for the sample, it is found that the 95% confidence interval for the number of units students in their college are enrolled in is (11.7, 12.7).

<h3>What is a t-distribution confidence interval?</h3>

The confidence interval is:

\overline{x} \pm t\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}

In which:

  • \overline{x} is the sample mean.
  • t is the critical value.
  • n is the sample size.
  • s is the standard deviation for the sample.

The critical value, using a t-distribution calculator, for a two-tailed <em>95% confidence interval</em>, with 49 - 1 = <em>48 df</em>, is t = 2.0106.

Hence:

\overline{x} - t\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}} = 12.2 - 2.0106\frac{1.6}{\sqrt{49}} = 11.7

\overline{x} + t\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}} = 12.2 + 2.0106\frac{1.6}{\sqrt{49}} = 12.7

The 95% confidence interval for the number of units students in their college are enrolled in is (11.7, 12.7).

jeka94

It is possible to replace the CO2 cylinder in an inflatable PFD each time the PFD is inflated.

<h3>What is an inflatable PFD?</h3>

An inflatable PFD is a specific inflator mechanical device based on a CO2 cylinder that fills a given sac with air.

Inflatable PFDs need to have to maintaining different types of safety measures to avoid the failure of the device (especially in emergency situations).

Inflatable PFDs can be classified according to their features into Type I, Type  II, Type  III, and Type V (for example, Type  III allows to buoy to more than 15 pounds), where Type IV PFDs are not inflatable.

In conclusion, it is possible to replace the CO2 cylinder in an inflatable PFD each time the PFD is inflated.
