Answer:

A.  -5x = -23

Step-by-step explanation:

First you have to simplify the equation - 4(x - 5) + 8x = 9x - 3

-4x + 20 + 8x = 9x -3

9x - 4x = 20 + 3

5x = 23

=> equivalent to answer A.

1.) What is slope and how is it determined from an graph?
Daniel [21]

1) Slope tell about the steepness of the line.

To find slope we look at the rise and run between 2 points.

attached the graph of line with slope

slope = \frac{change in y values ( rise)}{change in x value (run)}

= \frac{2}{1}

So slope = 2

2) we have x and y intercepts

x intercept is the point where the line crosses x axis

x intercept at x= 3

y intercept is the point where the line crosses y axis

y intercept at y= 6

3) Linear equation is y= 3x+2

function is f(x) = 3x+2

We can graph it using slope and y intercept

In f(x)= 3x + 2 , slope =3 and y intercept = 2

slope = 3, rise = 3 and run =1

The graph of f(x)= 3x+2 is attached below.

If f(x) = 2x - 1 and g(x)=x²-3x-2, find (f+ g)(x).
Ira Lisetskai [31]

\text{Given that,}~ f(x) = 2x -1~ \text{and}~ g(x) = x^2- 3x -2 \\\\\text{Now,}\\\\~~~(f+g)(x)\\\\=f(x) + g(x)\\\\=2x-1 +x^2 -3x -2\\\\=x^2 -x -3

What is the answer and how to solve?
oksian1 [2.3K]
I’m not sure what h and t are but you would want to plug them in and solve. How I would do it is multiply h and t on the left, then multiply t squared and get an answer, then multiply that answer by -5, then multiply t by 20. Next add or subtract all of the numbers on the right and I think you would get your answer.
