Answer:

Mysterious Stranger

Prompt: Write a story that includes the words sunscreen, camera, and tourist.

He really did look like a tourist, with a camera around his neck and a bottle of sunscreen sticking out of his tote bag.

The portly man sat on the terrace, sipping lemonade and pretending to look at a glossy cruise brochure. His sunglasses masked his eyes, but I knew he wasn't looking at the brochure: he hadn't turned a page for the last ten minutes.

As I brought him his clam chowder, he coughed up a "thank you" and looked at me briefly. I tried not to stare at the tiny scar across his left eyebrow.

I walked back inside with my empty tray, shaking my head. He looked familiar, but I couldn't quite place him.

Consider the Campbell excerpt you read and the Richard(his real name starts with a D but brainly wont let me use it) excerpt fea
Dvinal [7]
Okay, here’s what I found

Both excerpts are examples of science fiction, and they both describe machines that attack humans. However, the Campbell excerpt is an example of hard sci-fi because the style and narration places emphasis on the functionality and complexity of a certain technology—in this case, a rocket ship. The “Richard” excerpt is an example of social sci-fi since the purpose of the futuristic technology is not simply in its function, but more in its effect on humanity. In the Campbell excerpt, the push of a button brings a machine to life. The function and the structure of the machine is given emphasis. In the “Richard” excerpt, the effect the machines have on people is given emphasis. One of the survivors even speaks about the machine as if it were a person.

when working out you should rise and lower weights with slow, controlled motion to maximize the benefits of lifting
navik [9.2K]

This statement is true.

When working out, you should always<em> rise and lower weights with slow and controlled motions.</em> It is to maximize the benefits of lifting and to prevent injury.

<em>As for the benefits:</em> Slow lifts can build muscles much faster than regular or fast ones. Rising or lowering the lifts in a slow motion forces the muscles to hold the weight longer. The particular muscle involved in the move stays activated longer. If one goes fast on lifting for example, momentum will do a lot of work which shortens the activity of the muscles. And the more  a muscles works/is activated, the bigger it grows and the more it shows on the body. The goal is to fatigue the muscles before they fail. Muscle fatigue is a very good sign in building a muscle mass as the damaged muscles instigate greater growth. Finally, lifting/lowering slowly activates the skeletal muscles, they use a lot of energy and one burns more calories while using them.

Fewer accidents happen with slow lifting/lowering as one focuses on correct form and proper execution of each move; fast, uncontrolled moves can cause many injuries.
