The distribution of melanosomes in cells is tightly regulated in animals that rapidly change color. dark-colored cells have mela
kipiarov [429]

Microtubules originate on the centre of the cell taking the positive end to the periphery of the cell, while the negative end remains turned to the centre of the cell. The melanosomes move along these microtubules using motor proteins desiganted kinesins and dyneins. The kinesins are responsible for moving the melanosomes to the positive end of the microtubule (periphery of the cell) generating dark-colored cells, whereas dyneins move the melanosomes to the negative end of the microtubule (centre of the cell) generating light-colored cells.

When glucose is present, enzyme IIAglc is __________ and LacY is __________. a. phosphorylated; inhibited b. not phosphorylated;
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

Option B, not phosphorylated; inhibited

Explanation:

Glucose 6 acts as a catobolite repressant . A catobolite repressant which is usually a carbon compound inhibits the operon transcription. In the presence of glucose -6, unphosphorylated enzyme IIAGlc  inhibits the transportation system and hence prevents the utilization of lactose. Glucose‐6‐phosphate and other non‐PTS carbon causes inducer exclusion thereby leading to dephosphorylation of enzyme IIAGl without getting transported.

Hence, option B is correct

List the 3 types of cell junctions and state which is the most and least permeable.
Zanzabum
1) occluding junctions
2) anchoring junctions
3) communicating junctions
Occluding junctions do not totally seal the space between cells and the resulting permeability varies greatly.  I would say anchoring junctions are most likely with one of the other 2 junctions being least permeable.
