Constantine was the Emperor who ‘converted to Christianity’ and made it an official Roman Religion. His vision was of a glowing cross and the words - UNDER THIS SIGN WILL YOU CONQUER. At that point, Christianity was at about 10% of the Roman population.
Christianity started as part of the Jewish tradition. The Jews were mostly respected and started at 10% of the Roman population. (about the same as African Americans in the US. Alexandria was 1/3 - Wikipedia) Their religion was impressively old compared to nearly everybody else. The Egyptian gods were already overthrown by the Greeks. The Romans adopted the Greek gods when they conquered the Greek Empire. Neither impressed the Romans with their - might makes right mentality. = Trump Evangelicals. If they were so powerful, their believers wouldn’t have been conquered.
