For this problem we are going to split this big scary shape into smaller safer shapes.

Triangle.

On this one you need to add the end of the rectangle to the remaing height on the triangle for 5. Then take the height=5 and the width=7, and plug them into the formula for the area of a traingle which is hxw/2

5x7/2=17.5

The area of the triangle is 17.5 in

Long Rectangle.

On this one all you have to do is take the height=2 and the length=11, and multiply them together as that is the formula for the area of a rectangle.

2x11=22

Other Rectangle.

Again just do the same as the last one but instad with the height as 4 and the length as 6.

4x6=24

Total.

Then just add all those together for the total area!

17.5+22+24=63.5

63.5 in is the total area of this shape!
