The mRNA strand is complementary to the DNA template strand; however, uracil instead of thymine is paired with adenine.

How, explain briefly?

Protein synthesis which encompasses how gene is used to synthesize proteins consists of two processes namely; transcription and translation.

- Transcription is the process whereby the sequence of a DNA template is used to synthesize a mRNA strand. The mRNA sequence is synthesized using the COMPLEMENTARY BASE PAIRING RULE, which states that Adenine base (A) will always hydrogen pair with Thymine (T) while Guanine (G) will always pair with Cytosine (C).

Thus,This means that the mRNA strand produced is complementary to the DNA template strand that was transcribed. However, Uracil base (U) replaces thymine (T) in the mRNA molecule because Thymine is not found in RNA. Hence, Uracil instead of Thymine pairs with Adenine in the mRNA.

Some proteins on the surface of a mammalian cell contain carbohydrates. These proteins are synthesized by _______ and the sugars
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

c) Ribosomes on the rough endoplasmic reticulum; Golgi apparatus

Explanation:

Endoplasmic reticulum, a member of endomembrane system. If it contains ribosomes on their surface, they are called Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER). RER is the site for protein synthesis.

Newly formed protein undergoes modification, one such modification is the addition of carbohydrate side chains to form glycoprotein. The protein then moves to the Golgi for modification.

Luden [163]
Ferns reproduce by spores, Conifers reproduce by seeds. Differences also exist in the root and stem structure. Neither Ferns nor Conifers have true leaves, Ferns have fronds and most Conifers have needles.

Hope this helped.
