The constant of proportionality represented by K will be 1/3 which is shown in the given graph.

<h3>What is the constant of proportionality?</h3>

Firstly, there is a proportional relationship.

Two values x  and y are said to be in a proportional relationship if x = ky, where x and y are variables and k is a constant.

The constant k is called the constant of proportionality.

The proportional relationship between x and y can be written symbolically as

x \propto y

That middle sign is called a sign of proportionality.

In the given graph x line and y line have been graphed.

Since the relation between them has been represented by a straight line, so their relationship can be represented by

x = K × y

where K is the proportionality constant.

Now K = \dfrac{x}{y}

           = \dfrac{2}{6}

          =  1/3

therefore, the constant of proportionality will be 1/3.

SCORPION-xisa [38]
I think the correct decision to make is to accept the guaranteed award of $160000 because the probability of choosing the briefcase containing 500,000 dollars is very low. Chances are you would be able to choose the cases with lower value than the guaranteed award. Hope this helps.

A dealer bought an item for $ 7, sold it for $ 8, bought it back for $ 9, and sold it for $ 10. how much profi t did she make?
blsea [12.9K]
Well she starts with $7 and gets $1 the first time by selling it one dollar more than she bought it for. Then she loses nine dollars so that's $1-$9 which is -$8. Then she makes $10. So that would be -8+10 which is 2. So she made $2 profit.

murzikaleks [220]
Given that the highest station in London Tube is at 147 m above sea level and the lowest station is at 21 m below sea level, the height difference between will be given by:
[highest height-lowest height]

=147+21
=168 m
the answer is 180 m
