Read the following email: To: Rob Wallace From: Jon Cook For Congress Hi Rob, You know I’m not the type to whine about the lame

political attacks but there was a line in my opponent’s latest ad that I can’t let go – when he attacked the people who contribute to my campaign. Good people. People like you. I’m proud to say that the majority of my support comes from small-dollar donations. Not from special interests like Big Pharma, the oil industries, or Wall Street fat cats. I believe government should serve the needs of citizens, not corporations. My opponent is running scared and it shows, but I still need your help to get our message out. Please, join the 847 supporters who have already chipped in this week to FLIP DISTRICT 4! Thanks Rob. Together, we win! Jon Which of the answers below is the best description of the cultural context of the reading?

We can see that the best depiction of the social setting of the perusing is A Congressional competitor says he will uphold residents over huge business to urge individuals to give cash to his mission.

How can you explain social setting in story of Wallace?

Social setting alludes to a relationship that exists in the general public were one is raised and afterward uncovers what the way of life of that society means for the singular's way of behaving. It really shows the learned ways of behaving that are shared by a gathering.

We can see here that the Congressional competitor is really uncovering what occurs in the general public that he lives. It is a social setting.

6. What is the main thesis of Verret’s essay? What is he trying to argue and what evidence does he provide? Is his argument effe
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

A) The main thesis of Verret's Essay is a solicitation for the extension of Sea Ports for the United States of America.

B) His argument is based on the following facts:

i. that seaports are a major entry point of illicit and potentially harmful weapons that can cause destruction on a large scale

ii. that extending the seaports farther away from the coast of the USA will allow for damages or destruction to lives and property (should they arise at all) be minimized or eliminated altogether.

C) He goes on to indicate the role of the security and port management agencies and how they could contribute to ensuring the process works. He speaks of using X-Ray technologies to enhance the speed and effectiveness of the search process.

D) He also tries to justify the huge cost this might attract. One of his suggestion on how this can be managed is to ensure that countries exporting to the USA also pay a certain charge to this effect. In my opinion, though this is practicable on paper, ideally, it may pose a tough one. There are already costs associated with exporting to US. With over 30 trading partners and other countries who compete with the US in international trade, the proposal to transfer costs for projects that benefits the US primarily might prove a tough one.

Besides point D above, Verret's argument is plausible.

A. by describing how Wren hid under Eagle's wing B. with the words, "Long ago, in a far-away land" C. by explaining that all the
aniked [119]

This question is incomplete. I have found the complete question online. It is the following:

Read the legend titled "The Bird Chief."

All the birds were called together. To them was said, “Whichever one of you can fly farthest into the sky shall be chief.”

All the birds flew to a great height. But Wren got under the thick feathers of Eagle and sat there as Eagle flew. When all the birds became wing-tired, they flew down again; but Eagle flew still higher. When Eagle had gone as far as he could, Wren flew still higher.

When all the birds reached the ground, Eagle alone returned, after a great while. Behold! Wren only was absent. So they awaited him. At last he returned. Eagle had too highly been thinking of himself, being sure of being made chief; and behold! Wren was made chief.

How should a summary of this story begin?

A. by describing how Wren hid under Eagle's wing

B. with the words, "Long ago, in a far-away land"

C. by explaining that all the birds came together for a contest

D. with the words, "Eagle had too highly been thinking of himself"

Answer:

A summary of this story should begin:

C. by explaining that all the birds came together for a contest

Explanation:

When we write a summary, our purpose is to tell something in a shorter, faster way. We must pay attention to and maintain whatever is essential for the story to make sense, ignoring all else in order to keep it short. In the case we are analyzing here, we cannot skip the beginning of the story, otherwise our summary will not make any sense. For that reason, we must begin by explaining that all the birds came together for a contest. The contest is the reason why everything else happened in the story.
