Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) were established to serve the educational needs of black Americans. Prior to the time of their establishment, and for many years afterwards, blacks were generally denied admission to traditionally white institutions. As a result, HBCUs became the principle means for providing postsecondary education to black Americans.
Today, HBCUs must fulfill educational goals far beyond those initially set. President George Bush described the unique mission of black colleges as follows:

Why is the answer D)? well its D) because the Battle of Chickamauga was fought between September 18-20, 1863. It involved the second highest number of casualties in the war, behind only Gettysburg. It was a decisive victory for the Confederate troops under the command of General Braxton Bragg and resulted in the withdrawal of Union forces to Chattanooga.

Justinian I was one of the outstanding rulers of the Byzantine Empire, he governed from 527 until he died in 565. During his reign, he expanded the Empire and many great monuments were built including the famous Hagia Sophia in 537, which was originally constructed as a church. The church was the largest of its time and considered the greatest architecture building of the Byzantine Empire (330-1453)
