Because people engaged in agriculture (farming), this created enough food to encourage this lifestyle. The surpluses of food allowed for specialization of labor, which means that people could partake in jobs that weren’t related to farming or the production of food. This created an increase in artisanal and craft specialized goods and allowed cities and urbanization to increase as well.
