Unlike women, men do not experience a major, rapid (over several months) change in fertility as they age (like menopause). Instead, changes occur gradually during a process that some people call andropause. Aging changes in the male reproductive system occur primarily in the testes.

The smaller unit usually reads the mRNA -with the message from the nucleus -on how to ‘manufacture’ the proteins. The larger subunit actually does the translation by bringing in t_RNAs that carry specific amino acids and then forming peptide bonds between amino acids and ultimately forming polypeptide chains.
