After the Louisiana Purchase of 1803, President Thomas Jefferson ordered the Lewis and Clark Expedition to explore the recently acquired territories. In 1806, the explorers debrief the President and the westward expansion started. The Oregon Trail was one of the paths that pioneers took to get to the west of the United States. It was a dangerous trial. Many people died trying to get to the west. Once there, Pioneers and their families suffered many calamities because the had to start from cero.
