Anti-Federalists were worried that the Constitution gave too much power to the federal government. Furthermore, they were worried a strong central government could lead to tyranny. The Bill of Rights made the Anti-Federalists feel better. They were glad that there were rights for the average citizen that couldn't be taken away, because they thought these rights could prevent tyranny.
