So a area of a polygon is the perimeter * the apothem divided by 2
\frac{P*a}{2} = A
So lets find the perimeter first.
P = sn, where s is the length of a side and n is the number of sides
P = (12)(5) = 60

Now on to the apothem.
a = \frac{s}{2tan(\frac{180}{n}) } s and n represent the same things as before
a = \frac{12}{2tan(\frac{180}{5}) }
That is approximately 8.258

Now that we have both the perimeter and the apothem, we can solve for the area.

A=\frac{60*8.258}{2}
A = 247.74

247.74 rounded to the nearest tenth is 247.7 making the answer

247.7 squared ft

The tallest living man at one time had a height of 262 cm. The shortest living man at that time had a height of 68.6 cm. Heights
AysviL [449]

Answer:

more the z-score more will be the extreme. therefore tallest man has high extreme

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula for z-score: \frac{X-\mu }{\sigma}

where

X is height of tallest man

μ mean height

σ is standard deviation

z score for tallest is

z-score = \frac{ 262 - 175.32}{8.17} = 10.60

similarly for shortest man

z-score = \frac{68.6 - 175.32}{8.17} = - 13.06

more the z-score more will be the extreme. therefore tallest man has high extreme

1. Find the measurement of angle J.<br><br> 2. (5x - 13) (3x + 17)
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

Q1. x= 18, y=59

Q2. m∠J= 56°

Step-by-step explanation:

Q1. (3x +5)°= y° (base ∠s of isos. △)

y= 3x +5 -----(1)

(3x +5)° +y° +(4x -10)°= 180° (∠ sum of △)

3x +5 +y +4x -10= 180

7x +y -5= 180

7x +y= 180 +5

7x +y= 185 -----(2)

Substitute (1) into (2):

7x +3x +5= 185

10x= 185 -5

10x= 180

x= 180 ÷10

x= 18

Substitute x= 18 into (1):

y= 3(18) +5

y= 59

Q2. (5x -13)°= (3x +17)° (base ∠s of isos. △)

5x -13= 3x +17

5x -3x= 17 +13

2x= 30

x= 30 ÷2

x= 15

∠LKJ

= 3(15) +17

= 62°

∠KLJ= 62° (base ∠s of isos. △)

m∠J

= 180° -62° -62° (∠ sum of △JKL)

= 56°

Pastries made out of filo dough are brushed with either olive oil or butter (but not both). Pastries made out of shortcrust doug
givi [52]

Answer:

3X/20 (option a) of the pastries submitted by Rashid and Mikhail were brushed with butter

Step-by-step explanation:

Rashid pastries (R)

Mikhail pastries (M)

Rashid and Mikhail submitted a total of x pastries

R+M=x (I)

Rashid made 2/3 as many pastries as Mikhail

(2/3)*R=M (II)

Using II in I

R+(2/3)*R=x

(5/3)*R = x

R=(3/5)*x (III)

Using III in I

(3/5)*x+M=x

M=x-(3/5)*x

M=(2/5)*x (IV)

Mikhail filo dough (MF)

Mikhail shortcrust dough (MS)

Rashid filo dough (RF)

Rashid shortcrust dough (RS)

Mikhail used filo dough for all of his pastries

MF=M

MS=0

Rashid used shortcrust dough for all of his pastries

RS=R

RF=0

Filo dough (FD)

FD=RF+MF=0+MF=MF=M (V)

5/8 of the filo dough pastries were brushed with olive oil

pastries brushed with olive oil (OI)

(5/8)*FD=OI

Using V

(5/8)*M=OI

Using IV

(5/8)*(2/5)*x=OI

(1/4)*x=OI (VI)

pastries brushed with butter (B)

Pastries made out of filo dough are brushed with either olive oil or butter (but not both)

FD=OI+B

B=FD-OI

Using V and VI

B= M - (1/4)*x

Using IV

B = (2/5)*x - (1/4)*x

B= (3/20)*x

3X/20 (option a) of the pastries submitted by Rashid and Mikhail were brushed with butter
