according to the bible Dario was king of bailonia and he was very close to Daniel. Dario ruled with Daniel because he was very wise, some people envious of Daniel convince Dario to make a law (no pray for 30 days to no god only to the king) otherwise it would be sent to the lion's den.

Daniel did not stop praying so he was sent to the lions but God closed his mouth to the lions without hurting Daniel.
