What purpose does the expanded synaptic knob and the ruffled motor end-plate serve?
dlinn [17]

Answer:

The correct answer will be option C- increase the surface area.

Explanation:

At the neuromuscular junctions, the axons of the motor-neurons become bulbous at terminals. These bulbous enlargements are known as the synaptic knobs. The synaptic knob is the bulbous enlargements of the axon present at the terminals. These knobs increase the volume of the axon terminals embedded with the ligand-gated channels and accumulation of neurotransmitters in vesicles.

The motor end plate is the region of the muscle fiber which is responsible for initiating the action potential in a muscle. The motor end plate becomes ruffled or shows small folds or clefts to increase the increased surface area for the neurotransmitter to act.

Thus, option C is the correct answer.

Do you agree with dishman's recommendations? Why or why not ? If applicable, share a personal story of your own medical care.
Tresset [83]

Answer:

I agree with him because there are other ways to treat yourself other than medicine. His example was snow therapy, and I agree, nature can be very therapeutic and calming and helpful for your mental state and physical state. My example is I find dogs very therapeutic for me, when I’m feeling upset or anxious,I just play around with my weird dog and forget about what’s wrong. Many colleges have this too, they put the dogs in libraries and I find that adorably fascinating. Wouldn’t you rather play with a bundle of cute puppies then swallow pills all day long?

What are the minimum Standard Precautions an EMT should take when transporting a patient infected with Middle East Respiratory S
Marianna [84]

N-95 mask, gloves, goggles, and gown are the minimum Standard Precautions an EMT should take when transporting a patient infected with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) is a viral disease of the respiratory system brought on by the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), which was initially discovered in Saudi Arabia in 2012.

Frequent coughing, fever, and shortness of breath are typical MERS symptoms.

Although pneumonia is common, MERS patients may not always have the illness. Additionally, among MERS patients, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhoea have been documented.

Examples of personal protective equipment that shields the wearer from liquid or particle contamination of the face include surgical and N95 masks.

Some other precautions include using gloves and other type of PPE includes goggles and gown.
