The normality is the ratio of the equivalent to the volume of the solvent. To the mixture, 1.182 gms of magnesium should be added.

What is Normality?

Normality (N) is the grams or moles of solute per liter of solution.

Magnesium has 2 valence electrons in the outermost shell so,

1 mEq of Mg⁻² ions = atomic number of Mg ÷ valence electron

= 12 ÷ 2

= 6 mg

In a liter solution having 197 meq/l of Mg⁻²:

197 meq/l of Mg⁻² × 6 = 1182 mg

Therefore, 1.182 gms of magnesium ions should be added to the mixture.

Acetonitrile (CH3CN) is an important industrial chemical. Among other things, it is used to make plastic moldings, which have mu
serg [7]

Answer:

One carbon atom and the nitrogen atom have nonzero formal charges.

Explanation:

The compound Acetonitrile has sixteen valence electrons as is easily San from its structure. It contains a carbon nitrogen triple bond with a lone pair of electrons on nitrogen. All atoms satisfy the octet rule and there is no hyper valent atom in the molecule.

The formal charge an carbon and nitrogen is calculated as follows;

No. of valence electron on atom - [non bonded electrons + no. of bonds]

Therefore, for carbon and nitrogen, we have;

formal charge on carbon = 4 - (0 + 4) = 0

formal charge on nitrogen = 5 - (2 + 3) = 0

Hence carbon and nitrogen both possess zero formal charges.

An insulator,
Sedaia [141]
Hey there !

The answer would be C. Is when electrons cannot nice through objects easily.

Any material that keeps energy such as electricity, heat, or cold from easily transferring through is an insulator. Wood, plastic, rubber, and glass are good insulators.

Hope this helps !

Could someone help me please?
sergey [27]

Answer:

2,4,2

Explanation:

by looking at the subscripts (small number behind the element) you can tell how many of these atoms are presented in the compound.

your compound is C2H4O2

so there are two carbon atoms present, four hydrogen atoms present, and 2 oxygen atoms present.

hope this helps :)
