Samuel Slater and Francis Cabot Lowell both helped to improve American manufacturing? What changes did they help implement?
Dimas [21]

Samuel Slater and Francis Cabot Lowell were both members of a prominent Boston family that were successful merchants and desired to get into the manufacturing business, which they did in 1813 when they founded the Boston Manufacturing Company.

Before starting the company, they had traveled to Britain and were captivated by their textile mills. They took that experience and acquired knowledge as inspiration to start developing their own cotton producing technology in America, and the result of their works was a power loom, that was based on the British model but with numerous improvements.

So, the answer is option C. They built on practices they had seen in England to improve equipment and production techniques in the textile industry.
