The profit to the company will be maximum that means pear company should produce 11000 phones for the maximum profit.

<h3>What is a quadratic equation?</h3>

A quadratic equation is the second-order degree algebraic expression in a variable. the standard form of this expression is  ax² + bx + c = 0 where a. b are coefficients and x is the variable and c is a constant.

Function representing the cost to the manufacturer is,

C(x) = -20x²+ 48000x + 19351

A function that represents the revenue generated is,

R(x) = -23x² + 114000x

Function representing profit to the company,

Profit = Revenue generated - Cost price

        = -23x² + 114000x - ( -20x²+ 48000x + 19351)

        = -23x² + 20x² + 114000x - 48000x - 19351

P(x)  = -3x² + 66000x - 19351

Since this function is a quadratic function, the maximum price generated would be x = -b/2a

From the given quadratic function, a = (-3), b = 66000 and c = -19351

x = - 66000/ 2(-3)

x = -66000/-6

x = 11000

x = 11000 the profit to the company will be maximum.

That means pear company should produce 11000 phones for the maximum profit.

jake has a bag of 50 beads, of which some are red and the remaining are yellow. jake randomly pulls out a bead from the bag, rec
ivann1987 [24]
Let the number of red beads be x, then the number of yellow beads is 50 - x.
Then, 6/9 = x/(50 - x)
9x = 6(50 - x) = 300 - 6x
15x = 300
x = 300/15 = 20

Therefore, we expect 20 red beads in the bag.

A 98% confidence interval is found to be (32,46). What is the margin of error ?
solong [7]

Using <em>confidence interval concepts</em>, it is found that the margin of error is of 7.

  • A confidence interval has the format (a,b).
  • The <em>margin of error</em> is <u>half the difference between the two bounds</u>, that is:

M = \frac{b - a}{2}

In this problem, the interval is (32, 46), hence b = 46, a = 32, and the <em>margin of error</em> is:

M = \frac{46 - 32}{2} = 7

The margin of error is of 7.
