vovikov84 [41]
First solve what is probably 'part A.'
Peter has 36 ÷ 4; Peter has 9 model cars. Jade has 3 times as many as Peter; Peter has 1/3 as many as Jade, so 9 x 3 = 27, so Jade has 27 cars.

1st equation: 36 ÷ 4 = 9 -OR- 36 x 1/4 = 9
2nd equation: 9 x 3 = 27 -OR- (36 x 1/4) x 3 = 9
(36/4)3 = 9 would also work. I think the 1st equations would be best... just giving some choices...

hope this helped!

Compare the ratio of the longest side being 14 1/2 to shortest side 1 1/4 and turn it into a simplified fraction
marusya05 [52]
(14 1/2)/(1 1/4)  change both to improper fractions

(29/2)/(5/4)  invert second function (or the denominator fraction) and multiply.

(29/2)*(4/5)  multiply...

58/5 change improper fraction back to mixed fraction

11 3/5  or a decimal 11.6

Extremely important!!
ale4655 [162]
-8≥-5x+2>-38
-10≥-5x>-40
2≤x<8 (when divided by a negative number, the sign changes from ≥ or > to ≤ or <)
so x is between 2 (include 2, a solid dot) and 8 (doesn't include 8, a hollow bubble)
the third choice is correct.

A tree grow 1/4 foot in 1/12 year.
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

Part A) The rate is \frac{12}{4}\ \frac{feet}{years}

Part B) In 1 year the tree grows 3 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A)  write the rate at which this tree grows as a fractions

we know that

To find out the rate at which the tree grows divide 1/4 foot by 1/12 year

so

\frac{(1/4)}{(1/12)}=\frac{12}{4}\ \frac{feet}{years}

Part B) how many feet does the tree grow in 1 year?

we know that

The tree grows at rate of \frac{12}{4}\ \frac{feet}{years}

Simplify

\frac{3}{1}\ \frac{feet}{year}

That means ----> The tree grows 3 ft in 1 year

therefore

In 1 year the tree grows 3 feet

The 2s in 6,228 name the value of the given digits in each number
Yuliya22 [10]

We have the digit 6,228.

We need to find the values of 2s in the digit 6228.

First of all we need to split the digits as per their place values.

6 is at thousands place in the digits 6228, so the place value of 6 is 6000 (6 \times 1000).

2 is at hundreds place in the digits 6228, so the place value of 2 is 200 (2 \times 100).

2 is also their at tens place in the digits 6228, so the place value of 2 is 20 (2 \times 10).

8 is at ones place in the digits 6228, so the place value of 8 is (8 \times 1).

So, first 2 in the digits 6,228 is at hundreds place and the second 2 is at tens place.
