Currency such as dollars can come in various forms such as dimes, quarters, pennies, and nickels.

The number of quarter coins is 12 and the number of dollar coins is 14 coins.

Let's represent:

The number of 1 dollar coin = d

The number of 1 quarter coin = q

The twenty-six coins in my pocket are all dollar coins and quarters. The algebraic equation for this statement above is =

d + q = 26 ........ Equation 1

Making d the subject of the formula

d = 26 - q

1 dollar coin = $1

1 quarter = $0.25

The value of the dollar and nickel coins is seventeen dollars. The algebraic expression for this statement is :

$1 x d + $0.25 x q = 17

d + 0.25q = 17.................Equation 2

Substitute 26 - q for d in Equation 2

26 - q + 0.25q = 17

Collecting like terms

26 - 17 = q - 0.25q

9 = 0.75q

Divide both sides by 0.75

9/0.75 = 0.75q/0.75

q = 12 coins

Solving for number of dollar coins

d = 26 - q

q = 12

d = 26 - 12

d = 14 coins

Therefore, the number of quarter coins is 12 and the number of dollar coins is 14 coins.

Ivy is running errands for her mother. She bikes along straight paths to the supermarket, the bank, and then back home.Find the
chubhunter [2.5K]

The distance between Ivy's house and the supermarket and the distance between the supermarket and the bank:
H&S = 1,014 M; and S&B = 854m. This is resolved using the Sine Theorem.

What is the calculation backing the above solution?

Notice that the Angles of a Triangle add up to 180° That is

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°

Thus,

∠C = 180° - 32° - 109°

= 39°

Recall the Sine Theorem which indicates;

a/SinA = b/SinB = c/SinC

thus given that

AC = 1,523m

We have

AC/SinB = BC/SinA

BC = AC/SinB * SinA

= 1523/Sin109° * Sin32°

BC =854m

Therefore

AC/SinB = AB/SinC
Thus,

AB = AC/SinB * SinC

= 1523/Sin109° * Sin39°
AB ≈ 1,014m

In circle T, ∠PTQ ≅ ∠RTS. Circle T is shown. Line segments T P, T Q, T R, and T S are radii. Lines are drawn from point P to poi
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

The length of PQ is 4 units ⇒ 2nd answer

Step-by-step explanation:

In circle T:

 • TP , TQ , TR , TS are radii
 • PQ and SR are secants
 • The measure of arc SR is 66°
 • ∠PTQ ≅ ∠RTS
 • The length of TR is 3 units
 • The length of SR is 4 units

∵ TP , TQ , TR , TS are radii

- The radii of a circle are equal in length

∴ TP = TQ = TR = TS

∵ TR = 3 units

∴ TQ = 3 units

∴ TP = 3 units

∴ TS = 3 units

∵ ∠RTS is a central angle ⇒ its vertex is the center of the circle

∵ ∠RTS is subtended by arc SR

- The measure of the central angle is equal the measure of

 its subtended arc

∵ The measure of arc SR = 66°

∴ m∠RTS = 66°

∵ ∠PTQ ≅ ∠RTS

∴ m∠PTQ = 66°

In Δs STR and PTQ

∵ ST = PT ⇒ proved

∵ TR = TQ ⇒ proved

∵ m∠PTQ = m∠RTS

- By using SAS case of congruence theorem

∴ Δ STR ≅ Δ PTQ ⇒ SAS congruence theorem

- As a result of congruence

∴ SR ≅ PQ

∵ SR = 4 units

∴ PQ = 4 units

The length of PQ is 4 units
