Read the excerpts from The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald and Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving. Then, use the ar

chetypes chart to answer the question.
The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald

Lootie was very glad to please the princess. She got her hat and cloak, and they set out together for a walk up the mountain; for the road was so hard and steep that the water could not rest upon it, and it was always dry enough for walking a few minutes after the rain ceased. The clouds were rolling away in broken pieces, like great, overwoolly sheep, whose wool the sun had bleached till it was almost too white for the eyes to bear. Between them the sky shone with a deeper and purer blue, because of the rain. The trees on the road-side were hung all over with drops, which sparkled in the sun like jewels.

Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving

In a long ramble of the kind on a fine autumnal day, Rip had unconsciously scrambled to one of the highest parts of the Kaatskill Mountains. . . . Panting and fatigued, he threw himself, late in the afternoon, on a green knoll, covered with mountain herbage, that crowned the brow of a precipice. From an opening between the trees he could overlook all the lower country for many a mile of rich woodland.

How do the authors use the archetype of the mountain differently?

In the first excerpt, Lootie and the princess are happy to be going on a walk up the mountain. In the second excerpt, Rip is upset to find himself so far from home.
In the first excerpt, Lootie and the princess purposefully set off to walk up the mountain. In the second excerpt, Rip finds himself at the top of the mountain without having meant to travel so far.
In the first excerpt, Lootie and the princess find their trip up the mountain to be beautiful. In the second excerpt, Rip does not pay attention to the scenery around him.
In the first excerpt, Lootie and the princess are running away from something when they head up the mountain. In the second excerpt, Rip is out for a leisurely walk up the mountain.

Hi, I need a 5 paragraph essay about whether or not Utah state legislators should change the age guidelines for drivers in Utah
nexus9112 [7]

Answer:alr i gotchu<3

Explanation

Drivers are often not getting enough training and not experianced enough and by changing the drivers age guidelines from sixteen to eighteen that could no longer be a problem. There is quite a big age difference between 16 and 18 so young drivers would be a lot more mature. Keeping teens safe is the primary argument for raising the driving age. With more than one-third of teenagers classified as overweight or obese, eliminating an opportunity for exercise would not be considered very often if they could hop in the car and drive. Raising the driving age would stop unhealthy multitasking habits. It could lower teen fatality rates.

Maturity really comes into place in this situation because The brain isn't fully developed at 18; that doesn't happen until a person's mid-20s, typically. However, emotional maturity increases with age and experience. While a 16-year-old may drive faster than is safe because her friends tease her for being slow, at 18, that same teen may have the maturity to consider consequences and resist peer pressure.

At sixteen parents are worrying about if their kid/kids are being safe while driving, especially on the freeway. The fatal crash rate per mile driven is nearly twice as high for 16-17 year-olds as it is for 18-19 year-olds. High speed thrills are often part of the teen driving experience. Although those thrills aren’t going to go away, there is more decision-making skills that have been practiced in the two years from 16 to 18. Keeping minors from getting behind the wheel unsupervised could prevent injury and death not only to these teen drivers but for their passengers and drivers in other cars.

With more than one-third of teenagers classified as overweight or obese, eliminating an opportunity for exercise would not be considered very often if they could hop in the car and drive. Now by making the driving age 18 that gives teens another two years of a source of exersise especially if they live not too far from school. Health concerns factor into driving age debates. Even if a teen can safely walk to a friend's house or school, it's unlikely he'll choose that option if he can hop in the car instead. There’s no denying that today’s kids are dealing with weight issues. 1 in 3 Americans, for example, are overweight right now and the percentage keeps increasing. By raising the driving age 2 years, older teens may be encouraged to exercise more and learn healthier habits since the car isn’t available to them.

Raising the driving age would stop unhealthy multitasking habits such as: texting while driving, answering calls while driving, ect. In the younger teen years, smartphones and other technology distractions can make driving very dangerous. At the age of 18, there have been adjustments made so that technology isn’t as important as driving when compared to the age of 16. there are too many distractions for younger drivers.

It could lower teen fatality rates. Many high schoolers don't have cars or even driver's licenses but do have a friend with wheels. Teens are most likely to have fatal crashes when they're driving with passengers. the risk of a fatal crash increases with each passenger. So if your child's lab partner or crush can't load the gang into his car for a fast-food run because he's not old enough to drive, you don't have to worry about her safety as a passenger in the car with him.

in conclusion raising the teen driving age to sixteen would help drivers be safe, causaus, and aware of their surroundings making sure that they are paying attention to whats infront of them instead of goofing around.

some of this was spelled inncorrectly so i hope you can figure that out but i really hope this helped<3:) also i didnt add anything about utah so im sorry but i hope this still works!
