Remaining area = area of square - area of circle

                          = 144 - 113.04

                          = 30.96 sq. cm

Area of shaded region = remaining area / 4

                                      = 30.96 / 4

                                      = 7.74 sq. cm

Thus, the area of the shaded region between square and circle is 7.74 sq. cm.
