If a body moves in a straight line according to the law s = 24t + 3t2 - t3 , where s is the distance measured in meters from the

origin and t is the time in seconds after it starts to move, calculate the body's velocity as a function of time. A. V = 30t - t2 B. V = 24 + 6t - 3t2 C. V = 24 + 3t - t2 D. V = 30t - 3t2

Remember that the velocity as a function of time is the derivative of the position as a function of time.
To solve this we are going to take the derivative of our position function s=24t+3t^2-t^3. To do that er are going to apply the power rule of calculus: \frac{dy}{dx} x^n=nx^{n-1}

\frac{dy}{dx} 24t+\frac{dy}{dx}3t^2-\frac{dy}{dx}t^3
24+2(3)t-3t^2
v=24+6t-3t^2

We can conclude that the correct answer is: <span>B. V = 24 + 6t - 3t2</span>

Which equation can be used to solve for x in the following diagram?
Olenka [21]

The equation we can use to find the value of x in the diagram given is: B. (5x + 30) + 5x = 90.

<h3>What are Complementary Angles?</h3>

Angles that give a sum of 90 degrees when added are referred to as complementary angles.

The angles, (5x + 30) and 5x are complementary angles, since the sum of both gives a right angle (90 degrees).

Therefore, the equation that we can use to find x in the diagram is: B. (5x + 30) + 5x = 90.

Suppose that X is a geometric random variable with p=2/3<br> Solve for P (X=1 ∩ X ≥ 3)?
Tcecarenko [31]
X can't simultaneously be equal to 1 and larger than 2, so the probability must be zero.

Did you mean to find the probability of the union? In that case, since the events are mutually exclusive, you would be able to write

\mathbb P((X=1)\cap(X\ge3))=\mathbb P(X=1)+\mathbb P(X\ge3)
=\mathbb P(X=1)+1-\mathbb P(X
=\mathbb P(X=1)+1-\mathbb P(X\le2)
=1+f_X(1)+F_X(2)

where f_X(x) is the probability density function and F_X(x) is the cumulative distribution function for the random variable X.
