I think I mostly knew that big cities have pickpockets. There are a lot of needy people out there who will do whatever they need to to get money. I did not realize the number of people who are hurt by resisting someone stealing their items. When you resist they are more likely to be hostile which makes sense. I think that the best way to avoid being pickpocketed is to stay aware of your surroundings and the people who are near you. When I am in a very busy place, I always keep my purse zipped and to the front of my body with my hands on it at all times.

The development in 18th century took place because of Samuel Johnson, son of a bookseller,  who made lasting contributions to English language. It was a part of linguistic movement and it made the printing process efficient, as well.
