A purebred plant that produces yellow seeds is crossed with a purebred plant that produces green seeds. The F1 plants have yello
Serhud [2]

Answer:

3 yellow : 1 green

Explanation:

Let yellow seed trait be represented by Y allele and green seed trait by y allele.

Purebred yellow seed plant = YY

Purebred green seed plant = yy

YY x yy = Yy, Yy, Yy, Yy (all yellow)

This thus means that yellow seed trait is dominant over green seed trait.

F1 x F1 = Yy x Yy, resulting in YY, Yy, Yy, yy offspring.

Since Y is dominant over y,

YY, Yy, Yy = Yellow

yy  = green

Hence, the expected phenotypic ratio of seed color of the offspring of F1 x F1 cross is 3 yellow : 1 green

Polar climates are characterized by
baherus [9]

Answer:

Low rates of evaporation

Polar climate is found in regions around the north and south poles. They include the Arctic and Antarctica regions.

Explanation:

The regions are mainly cold, dry and windy. This is mainly due to their positionon earth relative to sun causing them to receive very little annual sunlight energy compared to other latitudes of the earth. Therefore most of the moisture is locked up in ice hence the dryness of the region. This is not helped by the thin atmosphere in these regions. This means they cannot retain heat because infrared (the electromagnetic waves responsible for heat transfer) boucing up from the earth's surface easily escapes back to space from this region of earth. The heat needed to spur precipitation, therefore, lacks and hence the dryness. Temperatures in these regions range at averages of 10 degrees centigrade on the warmest summer months.

What causes the gases to move in the lungs during gas exchange?
shtirl [24]
Gas exchange takes place in the millions of alveoli in the lungs and the capillaries that envelop them. As shown below, inhaled oxygen moves from the alveoli to the blood in the capillaries, and carbon dioxide moves from the blood in the capillaries to the air in the alveoli.

1.ATP production is an example of a. a phosphoreductase reaction. b. an exergonic phosphorylation reaction. c. energy waste in m
ladessa [460]

Answer:

option E the coupling of an exergonic reaction to an endergonic reaction

Explanation:

ATP production is an example of energy coupling where energy that is derived from one system is used to drive the reaction of a second system. energy released by ATP hydrolysis (an exergonic reaction) is usually used to drive cellular functions; coupling with endergonic reactions (reactions that absorbs heat from the environment). Sodium potassium pump uses this energy derived from ATP hydrolysis to pump sodium and potassium across the membrane.
