The perimeter of the following rectilinear figure is 54 units.

What is Perimeter ?

Perimeter of a figure is the distance covered when a person walk one round across its edges .

The given figure is in the form of a rectangle ,

The perimeter is equal to the sum of all sides ,

The bottom base is 13 includes (base of the small extended figure )

The left side is 14(includes left side of the small extended figure)

The right side is 10+5+4 (includes right side of the small extended figure)

The top is 8

Therefore the perimeter is 13+14+10+5+4+8 = 54 units

A ceramist uses (v²+ v) pints of glaze for v porcelain vases. What is the maximum number of vases
zmey [24]

By factoring the quadratic equation, 4 porcelain vases can be glazed with 20 pints of glaze. (Correct choice: B)

How much vases can be glazed with a certain amount of pints of glass?

Herein we have a quadratic equation that models the quantity of pints as a function of the number of vases, we need to solve the quadratic equation for v to find the required quantity. The complete procedure is shown below:

v² + v = 20                                         Given

v² + v - 20 = 0                                    Compatibility with addition / Existence of the additive inverse / Modulative property

(v + 5) · (v - 4) = 0                               x² - (r₁ + r₂) · x + r₁ · r₂ = (x - r₁) · (x - r₂)

The result must be a positive number and, thus, the maximum number of vases must be equal to 4. By factoring the quadratic equation, 4 porcelain vases can be glazed with 20 pints of glaze. (Correct choice: B)

I need help finding the value of x n y. thank you
rewona [7]

Step-by-step explanation:

Here with reference angle 45°

Hypotenuse ( h) = y

Perpendicular (p) = x

base (b) = 5√2

We know

tan 45° = p/b

1 = x / 5√2

Therefore x = 5√2

Now

h = √(5√2)^2 + 5√2)^2

= √ 50 +50

= √100

= 10

Hope it helped
