Yes, if they didn’t we’d still be getting treatments that were treatments from the 1930’s then. we have so much new technology that has been able to help us improve treatments everyday. Nurses should ALWAYS stay current on new research and practices for the best outcomes for patients.

Enteral tube feeding is indicated in patients who cannot main adequate oral intake of food or nutrition to meet their metabolic demands. Healthcare professionals commonly use enteral feeding in patients with dysphagia. Patients with dysphagia sometimes cannot meet their daily nutritional needs even with modification of food texture and or consistency.

In intermittent feeding,EN (Enteral nutrition) is directed more than 30-60 min each 4-6 h with or without a taking care of siphon. EN is regulated by means of a syringe or gravity dribble over a 4-10-min period

In intermittent feeding, routine will comprise of six bolus takes care of (one bolus at regular intervals) while the constant taking care of routine comprises of the absolute volume of feed directed more than 24 hours
