The number of moles contained in each of the question are a) 3.935 and b) 0.001165 mol.

What are moles?

Moles are a quantity or amount of a substance. Denoted by n.

To calculate moles, mass is divided by the molar mass

n = m/M

mass is divided by the molar mass

a) 230 grams of NaCl

n = m/M

molar mass of NaCl is 58.44 g/mol

n = 230 / 58.44 = 3.935 mol

b) 0.210 g of aspirin

n = m/M

molar mass of aspirin is 180.158 g/mol

n = 0.210 / 180.158 = 0.001165 mol

Thus, the moles are a) 3.935 and b) 0.001165 mol.

Balance this equation please!!! ASAP
Delvig [45]

Answer:

C2H4O2 + 2O2 —> 2CO2 + 2H20

The coefficients are 1, 2, 2, 2

Explanation:

C2H4O2 + O2 —> CO2 + H20

To balance the above, do the following

Since there are 2 carbon on the left, put 2 in front of CO2, we have

C2H4O2 + O2 —> 2CO2 + H20

We have 4 hydrogen on the left, to balance it put 2 in front of H2O i.e

C2H4O2 + O2 —> 2CO2 + 2H20

Now, we have a total of 6 oxygen on the right side. To balance it, put 2 in front of O2:

C2H4O2 + 2O2 —> 2CO2 + 2H20

The coefficients are 1, 2, 2, 2

If you have an aqueous solution that contains 1.5 moles of HCl, how many moles of ions are in the solution?
Citrus2011 [14]
There will be three moles of ions.
Because in an aqueous solution, HCl will break apart into H+ and Cl- ions.
HCl -> H+ + Cl−
1.5 HCl -> 1.5 H+ + 1.5 Cl−
So the aqueous solution will have 1.5 moles of hydrated hydrogen ions and 1.5 moles of hydrated chloride ions. So, a total of 3 moles of ions are present in the aqueous solution of 1.5 moles of HCl.
