After a 65 newton weight has fallen freely from rest a vertical distance of 5.3 meters, the kinetic energy of the weight is
inysia [295]

Answer:

The kinetic energy of the weight is 344.5 J

Explanation:

Given that:

Force = F = 65 newton

distance = d = 5.3 meters

We have to find change in kinetic energy ΔK.E

Now we know that, initially kinetic energy was 0 So the formula we use will be:

Work done = Change in kinetic energy

Mathematically,

W =  ΔK.E

As we know W = F . d and  ΔK.E = K.E(final) - K.E(initial)

So by putting values:

F . d = K.E(final) - K.E(initial)

F . d = K.E(final)

As  K.E(initial) is 0 so by putting values of F and d

(65)* (5.3) =  K.E(final)

344.5 J =  K.E(final)

So the change in  K.E will also be 344.5 J

i hope it will help you!

Why does an object under forced convection reach a steady-state faster than an object subjected to free-convection?
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

Free convection:

   When heat transfer occurs due to density difference between fluid then this type of heat transfer is know as free convection.The velocity of fluid is zero or we can say that fluid is not moving.

Force convection:

   When heat transfer occurs due to some external force then this type of heat transfer is know as force convection.The velocity of fluid is not zero or we can say that fluid is moving in force convection.

Heat transfer coefficient of force convection is high as compare to the natural convection.That is why heat force convection reach a steady-state faster than an object subjected to free-convection.

We know that convective heat transfer given as

 q = h  A ΔT

h=Heat transfer coefficient

A= Surface area

ΔT = Temperature difference

A simple Brayton cycle using air as the working fluid has a pressure ratio of 10.9. The minimum and maximum temperatures in the
ladessa [460]

Air pressure at the end of the Turbine exit is : 730.57 K

<u>Given data :</u>

Pressure ratio ( p₂ / p₁ )= 10.9

minimum temperature ( T₁ ) = 280 K

maximum temperature ( T₃ ) = 1410 K

Assuming :

constant specific heat and efficiency of 100%

<h3 /><h3>Determine the Air pressure at the end of the turbine exit </h3>

For air :

Cp = 1.005 kJ/kg.k,  Cv = 0.718 kJ/kg.k,  v = 1.4

Given that efficiency for compressor and turbine is 100% the process ( 1-2 , 3 - 4 ) will all be isentropic

We will Apply the formula below

\frac{T_{2} }{T_{1} } = ( \frac{p_{2} }{p_{1} } )^{\frac{v-1}{v} } = ( \frac{V_{1} }{V_{2} } )^{v-1}

Insert values into equation ( 1 )

T₂ = 551.147 K  ( temperature at compressor exit )

<u />

<u>Next : Determine the </u><u>value </u><u>of the temperature at </u><u>Turbine exit </u><u>( T₄ )</u>

T₃ / T₄ = 10.7^^{\frac{1.4-1}{1.4} }

Therefore : T₄ = 1410 / 10.7^0.286

                        = 1410 / 1.93

                        = 730.57 K

Hence we can conclude that the Air pressure at the end of the Turbine exit is :  730.57 K .
