In muscle cells, myosin molecules continue moving along actin molecules as long as:
Tju [1.3M]

Answer:

d. ATP is present and the intracellular Ca2+Ca2+ concentration is high.

Explanation:

Myosins are motor proteins that plays a major role in muscle contraction. They depend on ATP and responsible for motility in actin-based substances. Skeletal muscle is composed of myosin and actin fibers. Each myosin thick filament is surrounded by actin thin filaments, and each thin filament is surrounded by thick filaments. There exists a strong attraction between the myosin head and the myosin-binding site of actin which binds them spontaneously. This bond is aided by the presence of ATP and the high concentration of intracellular Ca2+. The myosin protein undergoes a change in its shape.

8. Complete the diagram illustrating ionic bonds. Atom X gives one electron to each atom Y.
nekit [7.7K]

The ions formed are;

 • X⁺ - a positive ion
 • Y⁻ - a negative ion

What are ionic bonds?

Ionic bonds are bond which are formed when electrons are transferred from one atom to another producing oppositely-charged ions which are held together by electrostatic forces of attraction.

In the formation of ionic bonds, the atom that donates one or more electrons forms a positive ion or cation while the atom that receives one electron or more becomes the negative ion or anion.

Considering the formation of ionic bonds between the atoms X and Y;

Atom X gives one electron to each atom Y, therefore, atom X acquires a charge of +1 while Y acquires a charge of -1.

The ions formed are;

 • X⁺ - a positive ion
 • Y⁻ - a negative ion

In conclusion, ionic bonds are formed during a transfer of electrons.

Ecotourism is when people are encouraged to tour natural environments, often of endangered species, in order to observe wildlife. You see, when people can see the beautiful places in nature that are at risk, they will work to conserve the environments. Transportation through these places uses the land as a resources without taking anything from it. Non-Extractive Resources are pieces of land and places in nature that benefit the economy without people extracting resources or artificially developing things within the ecosystems.

Metals on the ocean floor aren't renewable. They are formed over long periods of time, and the organisms that feed on them will become extinct without it. For example, iron is one of the most heavily mined metals in the ocean, as well as a primary food source for phytoplankton—who are one of the species at the base of the marine food pyramid, meaning they are essential to the survival of other species.

Answers:

1. Ecotourism

2. Alteration in seafloor sediments rich in carbon would cause loss of species and an unbalanced population in marine food webs.
