The statement, "All living organisms can reproduce, and parents pass on biological information to offspring," best describes whi
ehidna [41]

Answer:

A. inheritance and reproduction

Explanation:

These two terms are interrelated as the act of one (reproduction) gives rise to the other (inheritance). The process whereby offsprings are produced using gametes (sexual reproduction) or without gametes (asexual reproduction) from a an organism called the parent is called REPRODUCTION. Reproduction is necessary to ensure the survival of a particular species.

During reproduction, the genetic material (DNA) in form of chromosomes of an organism is passed down from parents to offsprings in a process called INHERITANCE or HEREDITY. The information needed for certain processes like growth, reproduction, survival and others are contained in the genetic material, and are transferred from the parents to their progenies.

In sexual reproduction, this biological information encoded in the genetic material is passed on via gametes produced by each parent (male and female) during meiosis.

liberstina [14]

Answer:

I deserve this scholarship because I work hard. I feel me getting this scholarship is my dedication paying off. My career goals are to be an orthopedic surgeon, so I can give back to my community, and help others. This has been my dream for a while. I chose this school because I feel it will help me better myself along the Journey of learning. I am involved in football, I was in the National Junior Honor Society in middle school, and I did some basketball. A personal achievement that makes me proud are all of the certificates on my walls of good grades and character badges.

What is FAD in Biology
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide

Explanation:

"Flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) is synthesized from riboflavin and two molecules of ATP. Riboflavin is phosphorylated by ATP to give riboflavin 5′-phosphate (also called flavin mononucleotide, FMN). FAD is then formed from FMN by the transfer of an AMP moiety from a second molecule of ATP."

A color-blind (X-linked recessive) human with Klinefelter syndrome has parents both of whom have normal color vision. 4a. From w
sineoko [7]

The extra X chromosome is received from mother.

Explanation:

Klinefelter's syndrome is the condition of chromosomal aberration where the person has an extra X chromosome. This means the genotype of the person is 44+XXY and the total chromosome number is 47. This condition is achieved due to inappropriate meiotic division and one of the sperm or ovum has the an extra X chromosome.

Here both the parents are normal in terms of colour vision. So the father cannot have the gene of colour blindness because if it was present, then father would have been colour blind because he has only one X chromosome per cell. So its present in mother who is heterozygous in terms of colour blind gene. So the extra X chromosome also came from her which made the presence of two defective X chromosomes in the offspring and made it colour blind.
