<h3>Answer:  Independent</h3>

For two events A and B, if the occurrence of either event in no way affects the probability of the occurrence of the other event, then the two events are considered to be <u>  independent  </u> events.

=========================================================

Explanation:

Consider the idea of flipping a coin and rolling a dice. If these actions are separate (i.e. they don't bump into each other), then one object won't affect the other. Hence, one probability won't change the other. We consider these events to be independent.

In contrast, let's say we're pulling out cards from a deck. If we don't put the first card back, then the future probabilities of other cards will change. This is considered dependent.

alex41 [277]
This is the concept of financial mathematics, the simple interest rate is given by:
S.I.=(PRT)/100
where:
P=principle=$2500
R=rate=5.5%
T=time=1 year
Hence;
S.I.=(5.5*2500.1)/100
=$137.5
Thus the total amount he had after 1 year will be:
2500+137.5
=$2,637.5

Pre-Calc: Find all the zeros of the function.
uysha [10]

The zeros of the polynomial function are y = 4/5, y = -4/5 and y = ±4/5√i and the polynomial as a product of the linear factors is f(y) = (5y - 4)(5y + 4)(25y^2 + 16)

<h3>What are polynomial expressions?</h3>

Polynomial expressions are mathematical statements that are represented by variables, coefficients and operators

<h3>How to determine the zeros of the polynomial?</h3>

The polynomial equation is given as

f(y) = 625y^4 - 256

Express the terms as an exponent of 4

So, we have

f(y) = (5y)^4 - 4^4

Express the terms as an exponent of 2

So, we have

f(y) = (25y^2)^2 - 16^2

Apply the difference of two squares

So, we have

f(y) = (25y^2 - 16)(25y^2 + 16)

Apply the difference of two squares

So, we have

f(y) = (5y - 4)(5y + 4)(25y^2 + 16)

Set the equation to 0

So, we have

(5y - 4)(5y + 4)(25y^2 + 16) = 0

Expand the equation

So, we have

5y - 4 = 0, 5y + 4 = 0 and 25y^2 + 16 = 0

This gives

5y = 4, 5y = -4 and 25y^2 = -16

Solve the factors of the equation

So, we have

y = 4/5, y = -4/5 and y = ±4/5√i

Hence, the zeros of the polynomial function are y = 4/5, y = -4/5 and y = ±4/5√i

How to write the polynomial as a product of the linear factors?

In (a), we have

The polynomial equation is given as

f(y) = 625y^4 - 256

Express the terms as an exponent of 4

So, we have

f(y) = (5y)^4 - 4^4

Express the terms as an exponent of 2

So, we have

f(y) = (25y^2)^2 - 16^2

Apply the difference of two squares

So, we have

f(y) = (25y^2 - 16)(25y^2 + 16)

Apply the difference of two squares

So, we have

f(y) = (5y - 4)(5y + 4)(25y^2 + 16)

Hence, the polynomial as a product of the linear factors is f(y) = (5y - 4)(5y + 4)(25y^2 + 16)

Using the slope and the y intercept, graph the line represented by the following equation.
PtichkaEL [24]
Beforehand let me apologize for my sloppy handwriting. I'm a lefty, so please deal with me. . Anyway, the equation you listed didn't really have a x, because a linear equation is y= mx+b, and anything with x is the slope. But I did see y and a number on one side, so I'm like maybe I can get these two alone. So here's what I did:

2y + 4=0
-4 -4 I subtracted 4 on both sides. Why because you would want "y" alone.
Next,
2y= -4
Now to get "y" alone you want to divide on both sides.
2y= -4/ 2
y= -2
Now you're probably thinking "how do you graph it? There's no "x" in the equation." Well, you just graph it. Since the answer is y= -2, you go to the y axis, look for -2, and place a line to indicate that is the equation. And to make it clear, remember y is the y-intercept.

I really do hope this helps you, if not message me. I'll be happy to help, and again I'm sorry for my handwriting!
