The height of the building to the nearest tenth of a meter is; 13 m

<h3>How to make use of Cosine Rule?</h3>

The slant line from the top of Trevor's head to the base of the building is gotten from Pythagoras theorem;

15/x = sin 36°

x = 15/sin 36

x = 25.52 m

Angle between that slant line and base of building is;

90 - tan⁻¹(1.5/14) = θ

θ = 83.88°

Remaining angle of the bigger triangle is;

180 - (36 + 83.88) = 60.12°

Thus, if the height of the building is h, then;

h/sin 36 = 25.52/sin 60.12

h = 13 m

Which equation is equivalent to x + 8 = 21? (x + 8) × 4 = 21 (x + 8) × 4 = 21 ÷ 4 (x + 8) × 4 = 21 × 2 (x + 8) × 4 = 21 × 4
Drupady [299]

Answer:

(x + 8) × 4 = 21 × 4

Explanation:

x + 8 = 21

21 - 8 = 13

(13 + 8) × 4 = 21 × 4

21 × 4 = 21 × 4

84 = 21 × 4

84 = 84

Solve for p 2(p + 1) = 24
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

p=11

Step-by-step explanation:

2(p + 1) = 24

Divide each side by 2

2/2(p + 1) = 24/2

p+1 = 12

Subtract 1 from each side

p+1-1 = 12-1

p =11

Given F= 9/5C+32, the conversion formula for Fahrenheit to Celsius, solve for C
nata0808 [166]
What do you want to solve for? Substitute in c to find F. To solve for C,

<span>F - 32 = 9/5(c) </span>

<span>C = 5/9(F - 32)</span>

Write an equivalent series with the index of summation beginning at n = 1. ∞ (−1)n + 1(n + 1)xn n = 0
kkurt [141]

Looks like the starting series is

\displaystyle\sum_{n=0}^\infty\left((-1)^n+1\right)(n+1)x^n

Note the degree of the first few terms in the series, for n=0,1,2, are x^0,x^1,x^2, and so on.

So if the series were to start at n=1, we would need to preserve that pattern, and we do that by replacing n with n-1:

\displaystyle\sum_{n=1}^\infty\left((-1)^{n-1}+1\right)(n-1+1)x^{n-1}

Simplifying a bit, we end up with

\displaystyle\sum_{n=1}^\infty\left(1-(-1)^n\right)nx^{n-1}

53. (a) if the symbol <img src="https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=%5Clbrack%5Crbrack" id="TexFormula1" title="\lbrack\rbrack" alt="\lbrack
GrogVix [38]

If x is between two consecutive integers such that n ≤ x < n + 1, then the greatest integer function [x] maps x to the largest integer smaller than x so that [x] = n.

(i) If x is approaching -2 from above, that means x > -2. As x gets closer to -2, we essentially have -2 < x < -1, so that [x] will approach

\displaystyle \lim_{x\to-2^+} [x] = \boxed{-2}

(ii) However, if x is approaching -2 from below, then x < -2, so that [x] = -3. In other words

\displaystyle \lim_{x\to-2^-} [x] = -3 \neq -2

Because the one-sided limits do not match, the two-sided limit

\displaystyle \lim_{x\to-2} [x] ~~\boxed{\text{does not exist}}

(iii) -2.4 lies between -3 and -2, so

\displaystyle \lim_{x\to-2.4} [x] = \boxed{-3}
