Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

Let b represent the cost of popcorn bucket and m represents the cost of 1 movie ticket.

The total cost for a bucket of popcorn and 4 movie tickets is $56.

⇒ b+4m= 56

The total cost for the same size bucket of popcorn and 6 movie tickets is $80.

⇒ b+6m=80

b+6m-(b+4m)=80-56

⇒ 2m=24

⇒ m=12

Putting value of m in b+4m=56

⇒ b+12×4=56

⇒b+48=56

⇒ b=56-48

⇒ b=8

Hence, cost of 1 movie ticket=$ 12

and cost of 1 bucket popcorn=$ 8

Let y be the total cost of the popcorn and movie tickets and x be the number of movie tickets that are purchased

⇒ 8+12x=y

Hence,  equation represents the relationship between y and x is:

y= 8+12x

Adding 2 movie tickets makes the cost go from 56 to 80. Since the difference is 24, each ticket cost $12. To find the bucket, use the original statement of 4 tickets ($48) plus 1 bucket of popcorn equals $56. The answer for each popcorn bucket is $8.

Given g(x)=3x+6, find the value of x when g(x)=30.
SpyIntel [72]

Answer: 15x-30

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a composite function, which means you are combining two functions together. This can seem tricky, but once you understand how to break these problems into pieces it becomes much easier.

g(f(x)) can be read as g of f of x. Which means we are plugging the function f(x) into the function g(x). Think of it like this, if I were to ask you to find g(3) you would need to plug the value 3 into the function g(x). This would look like this: g(3) = 5(3)              So g(3)= 15

However, when we are working with a composite function instead of a whole number we want to first look at the second function, so that we can rewrite the problem. In this problem f(x) = 3x -6

So, I can rewrite this as g(3x -6)

  • Now, all you have to do is plug this function into g (x) just like I plugged in the value of 3 above. This will look like this:

                               g(3x-6) = 5(3x-6)

  •  Then, you just need to multiply each term by 5, following the distributive property:

                                g(3x-6) = 15x - 30

Can we say that -3 belongs to the set of rational numbers? Give reason to support your answer.
Mariana [72]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Yes.

Since the universal set of rational numbers range from negative infinity of rational numbers to positive infinity of national numbers, then -3 is part of the of rational numbers set.
